1st XI Match Report - 15th July

Saturday saw Langford make the trip to Winchester to play RAM CC. Looking to make it back to back wins, Stephens won the toss and elected to field. A questionable looking pitch combined with a huge outfield hoped to help in restricting the opposition to a small total. However, RAM's openers thought differently motoring along and taking plenty of risks in the process. After a fast start it was Luke Stephens and Tom Bennett who pegged back the RAM onslaught, returning with figures of  2-44 and 3-37 respectively. With the platform set RAM's aggressive approach continued finishing their innings on a daunting 259 for 8. The standouts being Sajjad Kiani 58 and Faz Khan 63.

The Langford reply had an all too embarrassing feel to it. Inayat Khan doing the damage bowling accurately and at good pace. With the Langford line up continuing to miss those pesky straight deliveries it was a case of damage limitation. Luke Emm dug in and made 10 before Chris Mundy being the last to fall, trapped in front for a watchful 40. Langford all out for 80 with Inayat Khan returning with 7-11 from his 10 overs.

Next Saturday sees Langford play host to high flyers Liss and look to rebuild and bounce back........again.
