Redlynch & Hale 1st XI v Steeple Langford 1st XI

Steeple Langford’s poor league form continued after a much weakened side suffered a convincing defeat at Redlynch & Hale. Asked to bowl first, the away side were once again unfortunate not to take early wickets, partly down to poor fielding it must be said. None of the Redlynch batsmen really dominated the bowling with only Williams (24) and skipper Tanner who grafted out an unbeaten 100 in his 45 overs at the crease(being dropped twice and bowled off a no ball) really making decent scores.  The home side innings finished on 246 for 7 with Luke Stephens bowling well to end up with 2 for 37 from his 10 overs. In reply, Langford never looked like getting close to the required total with another abject batting display and only Gary Smith (25) and Nick Mundy (18) playing his first game in a year posed any kind of threat. The away side innings petered out to 95 all out with the wickets being shared amongst the Redlynch bowlers.
