2nd XI match report Sat 9th May


Regional Div 3 West - SLCC v IBM Hursley

Hursley won the toss and elected to put Langford into bat.
langford started rather steadily and at the 17 over mark were 38 -2, Nathan Hill  and Martin Grearson 70 (playing for the 2nds due to knee problems) then pushed the score on rapidly with a partnership of 95 runs.
With the score on 181 for 5 Darren Harvey applied the long handle and hit a rapid 18 but unfortunately Nathan Hill was run out on 48 from an excellent piece of fielding Langford finished on 212 for 7.
Hursley got off to a better start than Langford but wickets fell regularly and only H Basi with 34 scored runs of any note and were restricted by some tight opening bowling by Liam Harvey and Chris Miles 3 for 15 off his 10 overs.
D Haugh 1-1 off 1 over decided to protect his average by studding himself trying for a catch , he had a lovely evening at Salisbury’s A&E dept. The visitors finished on 136 all out.
