Adult Sunday team news and update.

Sunday team up and running just.........

Sunday 1st May - The Sunday team started the season with the now traditional fixture against Alistair Barretts Wot Noers. The weather was dry and sunny unlike the day before when both games were rained off.

Under the enthusiastic guidance of triple captains we soon had multiple batting orders but SLCC still posted a good looking early season score of 169 for 5 from 30 overs. A big welcome back to Bart after recent illness he probably felt rather sick again after falling caught on the boundry for 99!!!!!

The Langford bowlers were completely nobbled by the usual huge sponsors tea and an ex colt Chris Hillier who smashed 98 in their total of 173 for 1 in 27 overs and came in a distant 2nd on the day.

Sunday 8th May and the team took the field against storming Normans Broomhill Ducks. Langford batted first again in a 30 over game and posted 180 for 5. Vice captain Alec Lloyd scored an elegant 84* backed up by 29 each from Adi Hughes(quite elegant) and Andy Foyle(least elegant).

The bowlers were subjected to another tea which can only be described as a delicious cold BBQ prepared by Mrs Storming Norman(Gill). I believe having to use a knife and fork slowed down the intake levels and the nobbling affect. Broomhill Ducks came out fighting with a big opening stand J Pratt reached 50 and then departed. Runs kept coming which put the match in the balance and the ducks needed 13 off the last over to win. Up stepped Bart after his batting failure(only 19) and promptly cleaned bowled 3 batters in the over leaving the Ducks 173 for 6 off their 30 overs and SLCC retired to the bar to celebrate a 7 run win.
