Indoor Team win the double

Sunday Night saw the indoor team claim the league and cup double for Langford.

2 weeks previously the team clinched the league title in a thrilling last game of the season against the nearest rivals for the title Redlynch B, but Langford came out on top restricting Redlynch to just over 70 and chasing the total down with ease.

Sunday night came an opportunity for the team to win the double, this time they came across Redlynch C.
Langford won the toss and inserted Redlynch, a tactic which has worked well this season, Langford started well with Haggaty taking an early wicket, 2 more wickets fell from good aggressive bowling and tight fielding, leaving Langford in a great postion. Stan Boardman came to the crease looking to up the tempo with some hard hitting and quick runs, he was doing this and then was given run out, but this was dubious as looked in, so Langford called him back in where he then duly retired, a wicket near the end brought Boardman back in an he continued to try and set a competitive target, ending up 36* with Haggaty taking 2 wickets and everyone bowling and fielding well.

Langford's start wasnt great as Haggaty who so many times this year has scored well, fell for just 2 chopping on. This brought in Simon Ford with Alec Lloyd, the pair looked for 3's and Ford took the iniative with quick runs and placing the ball well to keep the scoreboard ticking over, he soon retired on 26* with Lloyd supporting him well, this left the game well balanced with 30 needed off the last 4.3 overs, Lloyd soon departed caught and bowled, but then Emm and Darren Harvey kept ticking it over and even ran twice scoring 5, Emm departed next bringing Liam Harvey in and 12 were needed from 2 overs. Not to be put off by the tightness of the game, young Harvey adopting a ballsy and cavalier approach dispatched 2 straight 4's over the bowlers head duly wrapping up the game with 5 balls to spare, a great way to win the game and finish off the season.

The team of Alec Lloyd, James Haggaty, Simon Ford, Luke Emm, Liam Harvey, Matt Dhanji, Darren Harvey and 2 cameos from Nick Partridge believe that having a consistent team each week and playing some great cricket lead to the successful season.

Special mention to James Haggatty for winning both bowling and batting award for the season in the league and Ian Lloyd for scoring and supporting each week and buying the first round of winners beers in the pub!!

Well done guys
