Match report 13/04

SLCC V hythe & Dibden

13 April 2019

The first friendly of the season saw Langford at home to Hythe & Dibden.  Langford were put into bat and were immediately under the cosh against some excellent bowling from the H&D openers; one of which was the club’s overseas professional.  The first two wickets fell quite quickly but Adi Hughes (18) and Nick Partridge (20) managed to get things back on track before Alec Lloyd took a liking to the change bowlers and blitzed 103 not out.  Langford eventually scored 201.

In reply H&D were never really troubled as three batsmen scored 50’s before retiring with the winning runs coming in the 27th over.  Only two wickets fell, one each for Alec Lloyd and Russ Longland.  A thorough beating but at least a few cobwebs blown away.
