2nd XI away to Shrewton III

A disappointing final league game for the Steeple Langford 2nd team yesterday as they lost away to local rivals Shrewton.
The home team chose to bat first and got off to a flyer as Ben Hatt took a while to find his rhythm. Chris Miles (2 for 13) pegged things back with help from Dave Hatchett (1 for 10). The change bowlers then did a good job with Dave Haugh (2 for 28) and Barnaby Blackwood (2 for 5 off 5 overs) helping to restrict the Shrewton total to 138 for 8 at the end of their innings.
The Langford response started positively before loosing openers Chris Miles (11) and Dave Hatchett (16) in quick succession. As the bounce and pace of the pitch started to become more unpredictable, the wickets started to fall with only Luke Emm (26) and Ben Hatt (13) of the rest of the batsman reaching double figures. Langford were eventually all out for 115.
