More Rain and Pain for Langford

Langford continue to have a stop start season during the month of June, both the first two league games of the month were affected in some way by the weather; with the 2nd Team game against Bransgore waterlogged on 7th June and the 1st Team game with Steep cancelled from the overnight storm on  14th June. The games that have been played have both ended in defeat, the 1st team game against Andover on 7th June ended in a crushing result with Andover scoring a healthy 242-7, Langford only managing 114 all out in reply, M and P Knight doing the damage with 94* and 6-29 respectively.

The 2nd team had a close encounter on 14th June on a nice day at the ground with a large crowd as the first team game was called off from overnight storm not distracting Martin Grearson and co from drinking, Langford posted 178 all out, after being 151-4, they lost wickets at the wrong time and both Darren Harvey 31 and Simon Ford 53, (playing his first game since his leg break in December) were in their stride when a run out from Ford and then Ford himself playing round slower ball led to their downfall.  All the bowlers toiled and kept the run rate down, but New Milton youngsters played their shots and rode their luck at times, with Nathan Hill dropping a dolly (that will teach him from drinking on a friday night), Miles and Pieterse all putting down difficult catches to take them through to 180-5, Langford rueing the loss of being 25 runs too short in the end.

The first team will be hosting Petersfield at Harnham on Satrurday with the 2's at Sway, hoping that we can get some momentum and wins under our belt!
