Not long left...

As the season is drawing to a close, there are still very important games for both the first and second team to play and you would think that two wins are required from both games, in order to remain in the respective leagues. The season has had mixed fortunes, there have been games where we havent scored enough runs and close games that have gone right to the wire where it could have gone either way yet we reamin unable to cross the line, however the atmosphere in the teams still remains of a good standard and the banter certainly seems to be prevailing around the club in every game I have played in. There seems to be a good team spirit, although we havent had the results we have been wanting, some new players have come in and settled straight away. Last Night's game epitomises my point, in a midweek friendly against Dinton, everyone had a bowl, even the club skipper turning his arm, Dinton scored 164 and we chased it down with two balls to spare, Luke Emm the hero in the end, showing me how to clean hit a 6 into the bungalows, making the task a lot easier in the end as we were chasing 30 off of 3 overs. Everyone seemed to enjoy the game, it was played in good spirits between both teams and was another opportunity for some batting practice and some good old team bonding.

Like I say the important stuff comes this weekend and there is a meeting next week that I hope everyone can attend, everyone can have a say in what they want the club to be doing, a lot of effort goes in behind the scenes so we can have games like last night, compete in the leagues we do and just be able to turn up on a Tuesday or Saturday and play on the ground that we do, have a good laugh and play some good cricket, so all support and feedback and most importantly help is always appreciated about how we can continue to progress an already good cricket club

Thanks

Simon
