Tuesday Night Round up

With just one game left of the Tuesday night season, the team still have an outside possibility of winning the league, currently 2nd, a point behind leaders Shrewton, but with Shrewton due to play bottom of the table Boscombe Down next week, it looks unlikely. The team can reflect on an excellent season, but for the fact for 2 poor games, both against South Newton, the season's outcome could have been a lot different. However, that be said it has been a really good season and this has again been backed up by another winning run since the semi final loss to South Newton. Alec Lloyd has matured into well it seems an all rounder role now, but importantly for him and the team he has scored runs throughout the season and taken wickets along the way, his 4 wickets last week against Boscombe Down and 52* against Amesbury last night typifies this. Nick Partridge has bowled with accuracy and pace and has taken a fair few wickets along the way, backing up his 3-9 against Boscombe Down last week with another 2 wickets last night against Amesbury. Gary Smith has also typically bowled tightly and scored some very important and at times brutal runs this year (in the games he played in, when his back wasn't broken). I could go on and on as a lot of players have had a good season and overall the team has worked well together and played some excellent cricket this season and with one game left, against Berwick next week, could be the most successful season in a good few years. So, we go out next week, play the way we have been playing get the win and look back on a great season for us!
