Tuesday Season Ends with a Win

The Tuesday Night season is now over and it actually feels like it never really got going. We finished joint 5th winning 3 games, with South Newton and Berwick ending up on 12 points alongside us. The games we won were against 2 Top 3 sides and Berwick. There were 4 rained off games and there were games we didnt really turn up to. In what was a stop start season it seemed, playing 1 game and then 2 in a row getting cancelled, you can slightly forgive the fact that we never really built up any momentum. That said, I for one always enjoy the season, you play against some good players (some far too good for the league), there generally tends to be good cricket when you get a game and we have a good team spirit (by that I mean we all like going to the pub after a game).

So, we ended the season at Berwick, in one of the hottest days of the year when we arrived it was....windy.

We bowled first and restricted Berwick to 92 all out, De Pass who took 4-9 was the pick of the bowlers with everyone else chipping in.

Captain Troggs sent in Smith P, fresh from a jug avoidance last game and he hit a quick 16, whilst Luke Emm departed for just 1, bringing Ford and Kinnison to the crease. Ford was happy with taking singles initially but punishing the loose balls, Kinnison was in great touch and batted with maturity and technique, when Ford fell for 30 and 12 needed, Kinnison and McNeilly, who seemed to be swotting away that fly again, brought home the victory and the season to an end. Kinnison ending up with a very nice 29*

All in all positives to take from the season and things we can improve on, but look forward to a rain free 2017 season, fingers crossed.
